In the recently concluded IGE-ICEi trade exhibition in London the online casino software providers were there in full strength. Visitors to the exhibition had a preview of what is in store for them in 2010.

WagerWorks exhibited under its parent company IGT. The centerpiece of its display was the just released online slot game Monty’s Millions. This was the first slot game from this group that had a simultaneous land casino and online casino release. More such releases are expected in the future. WagerWorks also exhibited a soon to be released slot game called Kitty Litter and also announced that some branded slots are due for release this year. On the technical front WagerWorks showcased the upgrades to its RGS platform. The RGS platform enables operators on other platforms to download selected WagerWorks games and offer them on their own platform.

The Microgaming stall carried endorsements from some of the leading online gaming operators who use Microgaming software such as Ladbrokes, 32Red, Jackpot City and Unibet. Some recent releases from Microgaming featured prominently. These included the branded Hellboy slot game released in conjunction with Dark Horse, the live dealer blackjack and the bingo side games. Microgaming also announced the release of a major branded slot game. More details on this are expected in the first week of February. Microgaming’s mobile gaming partner Spin3 also exhibited alongside. Spin3 announced significant forays into the East European market with a deal with the gambling firm Rocketspin.

Cryptologic focused on its recent achievements. The stall featured giant models of Batman and Superman, whom Cryptologic has brought to the reels subsequent to its deal with DC Comics. There were flat screen presentations of Braveheart and Forest Gump, the slots games based on Hollywood movies released based on its deal with Paramount Digital. Two of the most explosive slots released in 2009 by Cryptologic, Jenga and Call of Duty Modern Warfare, also featured in the presentations. Cryptologic displayed a new player protection facility for its blackjack games. Most blackjack players do not like to let the software play optimally for them because it takes away the fun. This facility lets the players make their moves but warns them if the moves are not optimal.

The focus of the Playtech stall was on the two important recent deals struck by it that will have significant long term impact. One was the deal with Scientific Games. In this context Playtech displayed the innovative game content developed by Sciplay, the joint venture with Scientific Games. A large number of casino management tools were also on display. The other Playtech deal was with Sportech and this marks Playtech’s entry to sports betting. The recent release of the pack of nine new slots, including five Marvel Movie based slots, was also on display.
