Columbia Entertainment makes a bid for Aztar

The Aztar Corporation owns and operates five casinos including the Tropicana in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. The casino operator is negotiating with Columbia Entertainment, who has made a $1.69 billion offer. Columbia is offering $47 a share, whereas Ameristar Casinos Inc. has proposed $43.
